(workshop) From Risk to Recognition: Early CP detection with HINE

For the  first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a workshop on early detection of cerebral palsy (CP) using the HINE assessment will be held in collaboration with Sunnybrookated with the University of Toronto, and the King Salman Center for Disability Res Health Center, affiliearch (KSCDR)


Purpose of the Workshop
 
 1. Develop Clinical Competency

 • Learn basic HINE administration and scoring for early cerebral palsy identification.

 2. Strengthen Understanding of Early Detection Tools

 •Gain knowledge of the early detection triad:

 HINE (Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination)

 • GMA (General Movements Assessment)
 • Neonatal neuroimaging / TEA-MRI

 3. Enhance Family-Centred Communication Skills

 • Apply strength-based, family-centred approaches.

 • Use the F-Words framework and WHO ICF to guide functional goal-setting and communication.

 4.Translate Knowledge into Locally Adaptable Practices

 • Develop early intervention and referral pathways inspired by the Sunnybrook NFUC framework.

 • Integrate early CP detection into post-NICU follow-up programs.

 5. Promote Practical and Applied Learning

 • Gain hands-on experience through simulation-based sessions and case-based learning.

 • Apply clinical reasoning: observation → assessment → intervention planning.
